When my hubby is sick, he likes distractions. So, I think the TV, and the computer are his big comfort items. It helps keep his mind off the pain/discomfort. Also, they are two things you can do while putting your feet up but they keep the mind active. Our netflix subscript
ion with the video streaming gets put to good use with the roku when he's sick too.
The other item he uses is the wedge system in bed, to be able to sleep kinda sitting up with a pillow under his knee and leg, and his back upright but reclined somewhat. He says that helps his belly feel more comfortable.
He also likes his big fluffy robe. When he flares, he has problems with his body temperature fluctuating from between 97.4 and 99.8 or so. So he unwraps when he's hot, and wraps up when he's cold.
The SCD chicken soup is something my husband seems to be able to tolerate most often even when he's sick. Unless he's really sick, he can tolerate that soup. He eats it all the time, and it seems to give him energy.
Also, I have to say our cat sticks to him, and follows him around from room to room when he's sick. And she seems to just stay close by to him and fall asleep, usually looking very cute. So I'd say she's a source of comfort for him too.
