Ivy, I want you to know Dunny2 is right! You helped me a few years back, more than you know. You and a few others are the reason I still lurk around here. I like to know how you all are doing and send prayers when needed. I haven’t been on in awhile and wanted to see if anyone had heard from Phoebe. As I scrolled down, I was horrified. You are loved by those that you don’t know, or remember. You are wonderful to me. I'm thankful for all the moderators for keeping this forum peaceful.

Hi nelsyd, why were you horrified? Was it because of my previous posts about the abscess and fistula surgeries, mushroom drains and setons? Pretty horrible times were had, that's for sure!

Hi Phoebe.

Nothing you wrote horrified me. I happened to sign on to see if anyone had heard from you and if you were safe (I’m very glad you are!). I was horrified, because as I scrolled down I saw a handful of very hateful people posting. For some reason it was poor Ivy that seemed to get the brunt of it. I wanted her to know she means a lot to a lot of people. I never really have anything to contribute, so I rarely post anything, but I’m still here. It hurt me, to read all the ugliness toward people I care about. This forum is full of great support, and great people and I felt I need to express it too. When I’m feeling like things are getting bad for me, I know I can jump in here and soak up the knowledge and love that this forum has. I may not feel better physically, but emotionally you all help and don’t even know it. I love you all!! Again..I’m glad you are safe. smilewinkgrin

Thank you, Nelsyd. I did feel as if I was being picked on that day, and did find it upsetting.

I think you all should know, though, that the other moderators were getting it too, and by email at that. We all had a really rough week, so all the hugs and love made a lot of difference. I think a few of us were rethinking our role here - I know I was - because we come here to help and support and to get help and support ourselves, not abuse.

Sadly, some people want to use the forum for different reasons or to meet their own needs, and can get aggressive when their wishes and needs aren't immediately accommodated, or when told that their posts violate forum rules. It does get hard sometimes, esp if it comes from a couple of people at once.

I think some members - especially the new ones - forget that we are ill too, and have often been ill longer and / or more seriously than a lot of the members here, and that's why we have the experience to help. Unfortunately, that means that huge online rows can have huge effects on our health as well.

I'm tired and not writing too well, but I hope that made sense. I'd rather not relive the whole drama, tbh...

Me too! And thank you guys for showing some love, it really means alot to all of us moderators! Ivy said it very well above, that sometimes I think folks forget we are sick too.  Also, that we don't make the rules, we only are here to make sure everyone follows them.  Hugs!
