What a yucky day.

Depressing, innit? I usually lie down on the carpet in front of my laptop and browse the net or have a hot bath until I turn into a big, wibbly-wobbly noodle and watch some telly after.

Luckily we moved away from rainy land and now we have mostly nice days. Seattle is the rain capital of the world and I don't miss it.

I like rain most of the time, but the weather has been very dreary lately: grey, damp, drizzly and raw. No fun to be out in, that's for sure. I miss the interesting winter weather: the frosts (which were breathtakingly beautiful, when it outlined every leaf and blade of grass), the snow, the mists. Actually, I don't really want snow again - it's too disruptive - but at least it's memorable compared to the current blahness.

But nah, I don't find it depressing. I love changing weather the best. Constant hot, sunny weather would wear me down as much as constant cold, rainy weather - possibly more so.

That's why I like living in New England, we experience it all. Our weather is so bipolar, it keeps you on your toes : p

I actually love the rain. I love the way the earth smells when it rains, the reflections on the streets at night, the little drops on my window that look like little jewels when the light shines through it and makes patterns on my walls, the sound of it falling. I love to stand or walk in the rain and get drenched to the bone. I love fishing in the rain, too. I'm a dork, I know, but I kind of get a thrill out of rain. And a thunderstorm? Hold me back!

Unless it's in flood mode, then all bets are off.

If it's not snowing, it's raining, if it's not raining, it's gale force winds, yadda yadda yadda. Winter time, not fun in Ireland.
