How long does Prednisone usually take before I can see some positive effect it has on my flare?

Hours. I've seen huge improvements after only like 8 hours.

I think with most people it's pretty immediate...I was put on my first course a few weeks ago, and strangely it was like a week before it calmed things down. When it finally kicked in though I felt great. I'm coming down off it now, and each week I taper I feel worse and worse. Ah well.

Prednisone always worked right away for me because both times I had it I started off with IV steroids. Best of luck!
Aces high, Prednisone doesn't heal anything it just kind mask the problems so you can recover to a put you are able to function, at least that's how it was explained to me. So that might be why as you lower the does you feel worse..

The first time I was on it, it took maybe a day before I felt infinitely better. The second time I was on it, I did a 40mg, 2 month taper and felt almost nothing.

Pretty quick for me, but I swore that drug off years ago, can't take the side effects and how it makes me feel.
