Has anyone used moviprep before?  Im prepping tomorrow and im super anxious about it.  Ive never tried this stuff, but last conoloscopy I had a few months ago I completely failed the prep.  So the doc gave me this stuff but Ive never used it before...it seems like its just powder you mix with water?  Im getting super anxious im going to fail the prep again and waste money...and this stuff cost 50 dollars! Even more pressure!  arghhh!

I didn't mind the stuff. My GI also had rebate coupons for it too.

Really? Ugh I wanted to throw up after a sip, there's no way I can handle 2 liters of that crap...

I had my GI call in a rx for the pills...even though I have trouble swallowing pills...there's 32 of them but they're so big so I cut them in half so that's 64....oi vey...I've taken 8 so far....8 out 0f 32...oi vey its going to be a long night! I wish I wasnt such a baby with all this prep stuff!

And I swear, EVERY SINGLE commercial on tv right now is about food...and it all looks delicious...mmm....

Yeah, I didn't mind it at all; thought it tastes a lot like Gatorade.

hahaha! Gatorade? Yeah, I can see that.

For me, it is way too slimy feeling when it goes down my throat and it tastes way too salty! I had 4 separate encounters with MoviePrep last year. yuck!

I love the stuff!! Yummy!! If it didn't have the, um, side effects I'd drink it all the time! It tastes great!!

I just had my 5th colonoscopy this AM and used MoviPrep for the first time to get ready for it.  Stop bashing this preparation - it's tollerable and you'll be fine! This is my 5th colonoscopy over the past 15 years and I was really upset when I read all the negative comments about the MoviPrep when my doctor gave me the prescription.  I was VERY freaked out for the past month  just dreading it.  But it was less salty and easier on my belly than the Fleet's Phosphosoda. 

Please don't freak out... this wasn't as salty tasting to me as the Fleet's Phosphosoda, and no bloating or gas.  I'm a former gastric bypass patient and I was so scared the amount of liquid I had to drink would be to much for my tiny stomach, but I was ok there, too.  So now that it's all over, I won't waste time on stressing out next time - just have my straw, butterschotch, and Desitine on hand:-)

I mixed it up in the morning so it would be VERY cold for the first doses starting at 6PM tht same day.  Drank through a straw as far back in my mouth as was comfortable so it didn't go all over my toung and I didn't taste it too much. Then deep sucks through the straw to drink it quickly. As soon as you get each dose down, quickly pop a butterschotch candy in you mouth to suck on and the taste goes away quickly.  I did this for each dose every 15 minutes.  Beware - it works FAST - I was in the bathroom within 10 minutes of the first swig.  I was done hitting the bathroom in about 2-3 hours from the first dose.

I mixed the second half of the MoviPrep before I went to bed so it would be VERY cold when I got up at 6AM to start on it.  I was done running to the bathroom by 8:30 AM so I could shower and be ready to leave the house at 9:30 for my 10:15 AM appointment.  All went well and the actual procedure is a piece of cake.

I found a great way to take Moviprep.

I had my second annual Colonoscopy last Thursday. I was prescribed Moviprep again this time and was really not looking forward to that process. I had forgotten to prepare the liquid Tuesday evening and was worried I would have to drink that nasty stuff lukewarm. Fortunately for me I have a wonderful wife that for reasons beyond me love me. She had made it up that afternoon and put it in the freezer to chill.

Well, that concerned me when I found out that as it had been in the freezer for 3-4 hours I may be looking at a block of ice. It turned out to be the perfect amount of time (for my freezer anyway) as the mixture had turned into a slushy like consistency. I could not believe how easy it went down. Slugging back about 2oz. at a time, each glass went down easy and fast. It was like this through the first set of 4 glasses as well as the second set.

The last time I took Moviprep I barely made it through the 3rd glass before I was ready to hurl. I could not make it through even the first sip of the 4th glass.

My recommendation is to mix it with warm water as directed then put it in the freezer. Check it in an hour to make sure it is still liquid, then check back every 30min. to make sure you are OK.

I would guess that due to the high salinity of the mixture it will not freeze in the average refrigerator freezer. A deep freeze (stand alone freezer) might be a different story.
