Why is it sooo hard to get ahold of your gi??

I don't know if it is the same with you folks, but good lord it is almost imposible to get an apt with my gi. I was told( which i kinda knew already) to make sure i make an apt. after my 3rd dose of remmi. So for the past few days i've been trying to get ahold of  her to get an apt. thank goodness my next dose isn't until the 17 of feb so I do have lots of time to book one.  but i mean come on.

The line is either busy, or the machine picks up, which by the way does not take mesages. So how on earth am I suppose to make an apt?? it's not that she is just  across the street either. I can't even call to see if she is there to pop in and make the apt, as she is a VERY busy woman. Soooo fusterated.
OHHHH i had some yogurt yesterday for the 1st time in 4 years and i an still alive!!!! It was sooooo yummy. I just have to remember, not to go over board with it..lol

I asked my doc how many patients she has. She first said she had no idea. I helped her work through the math and it came to around 50,000.

I was amazed, but I guess that is why it is sometimes tough to interact with her

Wow, 50,000? That is crazy....

Takilra, where do you live? I know here in Canada people have a lot of issues getting appointments and getting through to their doctors. I am pretty lucky.. If I have problems, I have my doctor and his nurses' e-mail addresses and pager numbers, my doctor's cell phone number, his nurses extension number.. etc. Yesterday for example, I called the nurse, left a message, and got a call back in 15 minutes for a consult. Pretty quick... But I am in the minority I think.

I have never had this problem, and been going to the same GI for 30-plus years. His receptionist had been with him for most of that time, knows me by first name and always schedules me within 72 hours. On the rare occasions when I needed to talk to him or his nurse I always got a return call within a few hours at most. Of course he's an old fashioned solo practitioner who will unfortunately be retiring in a couple of years.

My GI has an answering service and a nurse usually calls back the same day.

I have to admit my GI with the VA calls back within 24 hours most of the time.
