oh yeah- here we go again! picked up the prep today and am PSYCHED to get started tomorrow! haha!

Now THAT's enthusiasm!

My Mom called me earlier and told me GI appt and will have her first colonoscopy soon. I told her I'll be there after asking "have you passed gas yet" while giggling...

thanks!! i guess it's either laugh or get nervous as heck and dread the next couple of days...as long as they knock me out all the way it's not so bad except for the prep...the last 2 times they gave me versed to calm me down and the propofol. i hope that's how it goes Wed. again- new doc this time- now i'm at Mayo in AZ so not sure what their protocol is but i'll ask the anestesiologist before he does his thing.

Not well. I just suck it up and try to get it down. I usually end up super dehydrated at it's really tough for them to get the iv in.

Oh yuck mtgman I feel for you! I hate preps and scopes, I just feel so bad for days afterwards. Hope yours goes smoothly. Hugs!

good luck dude, thats the only good part for me was the fentynol they would give me, the last double I had, my gi is so good i barley get anything, just enough to do his thing, but I get up and walked out when he was done. after they wheeled me out anyway. good luck mtgman.

thanks! prep sucks...my gut is killing me...no fun and i feel like i'm going to puke. ahhhhhhhh! i'll catch up with you all tomorrow after the scope. i have to be at the hospital at 6 am so i should be out of there my 10:30 or so i would think. man i can't wait to eat...i'm starving! haha.

You have the pills or liquid prep? I got to use the pill version last time for me, drank ridiculous amounts of water and coffee, yeah I was squeaky clean... lol

liquid- doc said the pills are much harder on your kidneys and can cause kidney failure in some...scope was ok- just got home a bit ago...they were great- gave me 2 doses of versed to calm me down then fentanyl for pain bc my doc told them i was miserable and then propofol...i was out before i knew it and woke up in recovery- gave me a bunch more fentanyl--i love it when they're generous with the drugs!...i was still out of it when the doc talked to my folks- crohn's is not looking good. upper scope was perfect. colonoscopy showed tons of inflammation...need to follow up asap bc i didn't get the details but it's gotten worse. oh well...onward and upward! and the rest of the day off to chill! nice!
