they said nothing new was wrong although they did nothing no scans said that it may just be my period coming on although i dont think so beings it is 3 and half weeks away i just got off said blood work was fine mostly slightly elvated white blood count which always seems to be on me my gi doc says that is it from inflamation ugh i hate docs came off with the same thing that i was looking for pain meds and i told them no i want to know why i am hurting so much and that i already have my own pain meds and i showed him my bottle of vics

ugh stupid computer anyway i am going to call my gi doc and the nurse that oversees me for the reasearch study i am in and see what they say tomm

*bashes head against desk* Oh, that's so frustrating. Hospitals and doctors and nurses can be incredibly stupid & condescending sometimes.

thanks ivy .......... cant they though id like to meet one doctor or one nurse with this disease and see how they feel lol and go though what we all have with all the crap

And geez, if even if you were in that much pain, pre-menstrually, shouldn't they have been investigating that, too?!!!

ps. My feeling is that all doctors and nurses should be given a year-long assignment where they have to read a forum like this in their homework time, and take note of how much distress and harm and aggravation medical people can cause when they dismiss GENUINE patients in GENUINE pain, without even investigating their symptoms. I reckon they could learn as much about bedside manner from reading this forum as they could in many years of hospital placements.

went to an er closer to me not the same place i go to get my infusion its about 45 or so min away is they some reason why u said that ivy that i dont know

If you're in a clinical trial and turn up to hospital because you're in pain,

a) you're not a "new" patient and have a pretty good idea of what's normal pain and what's not, so you're not likely to turn up to hospital for no reason
b) it might be a good idea for them to scan & document the pain, just in case it turns out to be significant, either for you or the trial.

I'm not an expert in either; just thinking aloud, really.

k thanks i dont know i will call my gi doc and the research nurse tomm but i might even consider going to the hosptial i receive the meds at when i tell them at a local hosp they dont really even bring it up or even know anything about it i tried to get them to call my gi doc that is part of the study and said there was no need and it was female issuse not gi issuse i dont know i have had female problems to but dosnt feel the same as that really either

yes he did and i told him no i wanted to know the reason for my pain and showed him i had pain meds already

Doormouse, when they said it was probably your period, what they SHOULD have said is that it might be "mittelschmerz." That is ovulation pain. It can be excruciating. I had it once and I thought I'd been stabbed in the pelvis. It made me cry. It lasted a couple of hours, and then faded slowly. I was still sore the next day.
