Dicyclomine-as needed?

Is this an as-needed med? My GI put me on it in December and it didn't really seem to help. Since then, I've gone on Entocort and Cimzia, which DO seem to be helping (a lot). I'm down to 3-4 trips/day. Do I need to continue the dicyc. or can I stop taking it? My next appointment is in a month, but I was thinking about stopping that med now. It's not really a Crohn's maintenance drug anyway, right?

Yes, it's an anti-spasmodic. I was pretty sure that stopping it wouldn't affect the Crohn's itself, but wanted to check with the experts on here. If the frequency increases, I can always start taking it again.

Yeah, I took it as needed. I have pills and 7 refills left. I haven't used it in months.

It is with good for the bad cramps. but it made me sleepy and dizzy? For just overactive bowels I still like immodium..

I personally find that Librax works better for my cramps/spasms than Bentyl does. Plus I also suffer with more constipation, but when I have those d days, the Librax helps to quiet the spasms and diarrhea down more for me. Both are generally used on a as needed basis. Hugs!
