no mechanical skills involved. Go to hardware store, spend about
$10, then plug yogurt maker into dimmer, easy peasy. I own one, but I travel a lot and am going to buy another. Be aware that the temp will change depending on the room temp. When it is colder then I have it turned all the way up, when it is warmer then I have to turn down by 20% or it will over heat.
I use GI proStart. it is SCD complaint and makes a great yogurt. It makes a very thick yogurt. I also only use organic cows milk. I can not tell you why, the yogurt is much sweeter with organic. Also, it is best to leave it a couple of days when you can after you make it. Then it gets so thick you can take a spoon and hold it upside down (well almost). For me, it is much better than the yogourmet starter. I
Also, I always use the starter as I am looking for really strong yogurt. If you do not use a starter then the amount of probiotics will weaken over time.
