Hello.

I was diagnosed with CD last month. I have had stomach issues since about 18. I was always told that I had IBS. I had my gallbladder removed about 7 years ago and until October 10' - typically had long bouts of constipation.

My CD is mostly in my large intestine - as far as they can tell as of now. I was put on Lialda 2x's a day right after the diagnosis. Initially I felt like it was working... bleeding stopped, frequency slowed way down, nausea stopped - was feeling much better. However, over the last week and a half or so, I am starting to get loose, watery stools again, fatigue, etc.

Last night I woke up having to go - very watery. After I got back into bed, I had intense cramping (worse than the type you get when you have to go) from the bottom of my rib cage to my groin... all in front. The pain took my breath away. I woke up 3x's during the night due to this. This has not happened before to me - does this happen to anyone else?

Also, has anyone else had Lialda work for a few weeks and then stop?

hey avan, those sound like severe gas sharp frontal pains, I got htose when I was on pred. I mean they would drop me on the ground, and I would pray that I would get rid of that gas, but that pred would slow things down, that it caused this type of gas pain, I got my flare down, in my throat, and cankers, but caused horrible small bowel issues. so I weaned myself down in 10 days, from 40mg. no problem. I get tons of gas, but I get rid of it, all the time, more flare, more farts. pretty much. Could be worse, I couldn't get rid of gas, that is the worst.

You could ask your doctor for some anti-spasmodic meds. They might help ease the cramping pain. I take Bentyl and it helps some.

hi there. i have been having extreme pain issues for over a year now- pain is always located in the i=middle under my belly button- on a scale of 1-10 it's a 10 a lot of times when i am going to the bathroom- so bad it makes me puke. docs tried bentyl- didn't really work but i'd give it a shot. now i'm taking a bunch of percocets a day- not a solution by any means but it lets me get through work etc...pain is tough. i hope you figure it out and feel better quick.

Hello.

Thank you for your help. I can't wrap my head around that being gas... but I believe you - WTH. Talked with my GI - my newest blood test just came back and I guess there were a few things (c-reactive protein, WBC, and sedimentation rate) that came back showing a lot of inflammation (?, this is all new to me) so my meds have been doubled, got some nausea meds, etc. I am going to hope for the best!
