Really upset

Hi Nanners , I have top seniority where I work and I still have to argue for everything.....They don't care, they say we are very easily replaced. Always have to watch your back. It is so difficult dealing with this disease and then having to deal with people, that they totally don't understand and are ignorant...I am so
sorry you are going through this...I understand how you feel and I know maybe to healty people does not matter the shift change, but to the sick it throws us
completely off wack.

I hope you can resolve this....

Spoke to my manager yesterday and explained the importance of a routine for us Crohnies, and also how making changes to my schedule like that can/will make things worse and then I would be out sick more.

Also discussed the issue of being covered under the Americans with disabilities act. This boss is a real sweetheart and called HR for me. For now we are only going to change my hours by 30 minutes. I will come in 30 min later and stay 30 min longer. That seems maneageable for me.

HR sent her a form for my doctors to complete re ADA and said at this point it is not needed, but if complainer keeps up I can get my docs to complete it to get them off my back.

Although the form is not needed right now, I have an appt March 18th with my GI and will have him complete the form anyways. Better safe than sorry, right???!!!??

Yay! What a relief, though I hope that complainer minds his/her own business from now on.

I wish I could offer advise, but instead i am sending hugs, hugs, hugs, to you!!  I had to leave teaching, which I loved, several years ago because I just could not give 100% ( or even 80%) anymore and was missing more and more days each year.  The year I left, my principal wanted to make my goal: "to miss less days", I told him I could not possibly have that as a goal, so I figured my time was up.  Hated to go, I am now on disability starting next month, (it took 3 years to get it though).

For many, leaving their job is not an option, and I really hope that you can work out your hours to your benefit!!!
