Starting Humira

I am starting Humira for the first time this Friday 3/4/11.  I tried Remicade 2 times and had reactions both time even with several years between infusions.  I have had 4 bowel resections and have tried many medications.  I am currently using Entocort, Purinethol and will add Humira.  Has anyone had these medications in combination.  It sounds pretty crazy to be on all three or for that matter any two.  I don't like the sound of how the injections feel but I am a medical person so doing it will not be a problem.  As far as the pain, I do not have many choices.  I need some relief.  My last surgery was Sept. 2009 and have had obstructions since.  I would like to hear if anyone has been on any of the above medication combinations.

I am currently on azathioprine, pred and Humira. I will be on the azathioprine for life and Humira for foreseeable future, so will taking 2 immunosuppressants for long term. Only one that will stop will be the pred once seen GI for review and flare in remission fully.

I have been on Humira for 15 months now and I am now in remission.

Hi, I am on Entocort and Humira. I started Humira this past summer, June 2010. I was told to give Humira 1-3 months however, I did see a slight improvement however, others told me to give it 6 months and that made a difference for me. Now, take out the Humira out of the fridge for about an hour, leave it at room temperature, the key is to put an ice pack on the area that you are going to inject, it will freeze the area and it won't hurt, I promise you that, good luck!
