benadryl syrup?

Well living in beautiful scotland one of the downsides is the midges( like little flies that bite) and my son who has been out playing all day seems to have little red bites on his skin. Is it ok for him to have benadryl syrup, he is on 6mp and mesalazine for crohns? x

I don't know about the syrup, but I take regular benadryl and have no issue.

I have never heard of any reactions between these three medications 6mp is an immunosuppressive drug, Mesalazine is an anti-inflammatory drug and Benadryl is an anti-histamine. I take Imuran(Azathioprine) which is an immunosuppressive drug and anti-histamines everyday and I'm still here. If you are worried you should probably still call your doctor. Hope he feels better soon! :)

Benedryl would be fine!!

I take azathioprine and also citrizine (which I take for hay fever, it's an anti histamine) daily and also now on Humira and never had any problems.

the blotchy like rash has appeared again, took him to hospital as i get really concerned as he on 6mp. they said its ok as it disappeares when press it. im thinkin its hives or could it be the 6mp? he been on it since start of december and his bloods have been fine?
