How are you feeling now?
I'm 5.5 weeks post op and still having LRQ and incisional pain. Milder, but still a little intense sometimes.

Hi Roni, thanks for thinking of me. I am still not doing well at all. I would have expected to be doing much better by now, especially since I have been there, done that, and I know how I "should" be feeling. I started on domperidone on Wednesday and things are moving through me now, but I have a lot more internal pain than I was having before. I am really very weak and tired. I am having hot and cold sweats, which is sort of new (started mid week) and I just overall feel like I am still going downhill not making my way back up. I will be calling the doctor tomorrow to see where we go from here, because something is still not right.

But on the plus side, my incision seems to be healing nicely. I am glad you are making progress.

I totally understand how you both feel  (((hugs)))

Roni - glad to hear you are doing ok.

Zanne - Im sorry that you are not feeling so great.

Im 8 weeks post on on Tues, and am hopefully now making progress.  This time last week I was admitted to hospital with a big infection behind my incision site which was spreading quickly. The surgeon, went straight in through my scar (with no anethestic) Ouch !   Although it was awful I was so gald he did as it eased my pain and the poison came out.  I was in hospital 4 days, but seem to have come on in leaps and bounds since coming home on Wednesday  (Fingers crossed - long may it continue).

I hope you both start to improve more soon and can then get on with enjoying your life.

At three weeks, it was still pretty rough, zanne. I think when they open an old incision it takes longer to heal. I hope everything goes well for you. Let us know how things go.
LMM sorry you r still suffering. Were u on antibiotics after surgery?

I just seem to be swapping symptoms. Last week I was getting weak from not eating but I was getting much better pain wise. This week, I am able to eat due to the new medication, but my internal pain level has ramped up significantly. Also I seem to be just losing it mentally. My husband and I have been making quick grocery store runs each weekend. After this weekends' run, he commented on how I was much stronger and alert last weekend. As an example, I was snapping some beans, by the time I finished snapping 1lb, I had spiked a fever and had to go lay down. I was dizzy and just couldn't even think straight. Last week, I could do this chore without a problem. I was sitting down, not really a stressful chore. What up with that!

Roni, I was put on anti biotics about 2weeks after my op for a small infection. In the hospital I was on Iv antibiotics for 3 days. Now Im on 2 different antibiotics for the next 2 weeks. Phew!

Zanne, fever doesn't sound good, and goodness, a whole pound of beans sounds like a lot of work. I know it's hard to know how much we can do until after the fact, though. I made my first bigger dinner at about 2 weeks and it hurt. Just got to take it easy.

I was on IV antibiotics at hospital for 3 days as well, then at 2 weeks went on oral antibiotics because the drainage found its way through my incision.

Now my incision is nicely healed at the top, but the bottom where it was draining looks like it's taking just a little longer.
Recovery certainly seems like it is harder and longer this time around for me too. I thought I'd be further ahead at almost 6 weeks.

LMM, thanks for letting me know how you're doing. I was wondering about you too.

I'm so sorry you both have had such a rough time. I hope things will turn around soon too.
