Multivitamin Recommendation??

I use My Favorite Multiple by Natrol. You can get it with or without iron, which I like because Iron no matter what form (except food) always bothers my Crohn's.

I started using this one because a doctor ( not GI ) said this is the multiple he recommends most outside of liquid multi-vitamins because most people absorb it well. It isn't hard pressed and all one color or coated like a lot of vitamin pills. I read several different articles and blurbs about main stream multis like Centrum and One A day are hard to absorb because of the way they are processed and most people get minimal if any benefit from them.

I never really researched them but I used to take centrum performance. I switched to the walmart brand one a day since they are so much cheaper than centrum. I've been thinking of trying a B12 supplement but haven't yet

I use Freeda SCD multi, D and Bs.

Crazyharry - by chance do you have an opinion on these. I need SCD legal suppliments

This is really interesting to me. I have been looking for a multi vit for a long time. But most that I have tried upset my stomach. I will have to look into a few of these recommendations.

Might go with IDES and try the childrens ones. I really need them as my diet isn't the best, but it is what works for me. Stomach upset is a big deal for me, because my tummy is sooo sensitive. Thanks all!

the scd ones are fine as those are made specific for that diet.

for vit D i like carlson labs. vit D is fat soluble so take it with full fat yogurt, fish oil, coconut oil, etc as that will help its absorption.

b vitamins should be in a sublingual (ie lozenger or spray)



you need to experiment with vitamins - some are made to take on a full stomach, some work best on an empty stomach, some dont work well when taken with certain foods or meds or other supplements. or perhaps you just need a different brand. a lot of trial and error on this stuff to find what works for you. children vitamins dont have the stuff adults needs, be it dosage and/or ingredients. the needs of our bodies change as we age and diet does play a big role. vitamins should be a supplement, not the main source of nutrients.
