Hey everyone, first let me say what a Godsend this forum has been for me. I have been "lurking" here for the last several months, but I think this is my first post.
The big D and Flagyl seem to go hand in hand. Right now where I am at is making the decision to get off the Flagyl or try and stick it out with possibly the help of a good Probiotic. I probably should mention the antiobiotics probably were prescribed because I had surgery for abscess 3 weeks ago and it looks like my WBC is still high and CT scan still shows "pocket of infection" I must attribute the uncontrollable D to the Flagyl, as I recently had a brief respite from it where my D all but disappeared - only to return after restarting the Flagyl! Twice in the past several days I have not been able to make it to the bathroom in time - uggggh!. As I am sure most of you can relate to this, having IBD we are all used to that urgency, but it seems like with the Flagyl D there is "zero warning" as someone mentioned on this thread. I am going to give those probiotics a try I think before I throw in the towel. Also maybe put in a call to my GI and see what they say about this side effect. Thanks you guys for the valuable info.
