Abscess coming back?

10 months since I had the perirectal abscess that started this all. Now where the one drain was seems to be getting inflamed. I had my husband have a peek tonight (poor husband) and he said it was red right were one of the two incissions were. Its tender to the touch and when I sit.

Talked to a friend who is a Dr and he said to call my surgeon tomorrow and let him know. Sadly Dr Hunky Dunky is on vacation until next tuesday and his nurse Cindy Lou Who is out recovering from  surgery until next monday!

Oh Good Gollie I do not want to go back and do all of that again! The last time the abscess went from the size of my little finger to the size of 3 twinkies under the skin in 4 days!

Guess I need to call them and see if his partner Dr De Hottie can take a peek at my rear end! (not that I would love that cutie to look but not for this! )
I told Dr Hunky Dunky when he released me that I wouldnt darken their darken their door again unless my a---h--- sprung another leak! Please dont do this again!

Been waiting for weeks to get the results from the pill cam with Dr GI Guy and I have my appointment with him on monday at 1:30... I do not want to get sick like I did last year again!!

Last year one abscess lead to 2 fistulas and 3 surgeries in 4 months! Plezzzzzzzzzz Dont let this happen again!

Worried girl here boo hoo!!

I had/still have a perirectal abscess for little over 9 years now , The thing is its going to keep
coming back . So I gave up and said #$@$ it , the abscess comes back every year .
As a EMT-I I should know better , but this is what I do . I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE TO DO
I use a few syringes , I get loads of them for free cause I'm a EMT and a box of gauze pads 4x4in /prednisone /Flagyl . I'm not going to tell you what to do , cause I can't as a EMT .

This has worked for me for the past 8 years , the first year I was a bit slow
and went to the doctors for help and ended up on my back for five months .....
I think the only draw back to what I do is that its a big NO GO in the eyes of
many . I'll take my 3 days of draining / wearing a taped gauze to my @#! Vs. five months
on my back "thanks but no thanks MR.Doc".

I used to be an EMT years ago too! Sounds like you might have a fistula if it keeps abscessing over this long.
Perirectal abscess are the only abscess that are deadly. Deep tissue and gram negative bacteria. When I had mine it was so deep under the skin that only option was surgery and rubber drains. I was back to work in 3 days with the drains in for another week. It was a pain in the A--!
Often people confuse perianal with perirectal abscess. The perianal are a skin abscess that is easily drained and treated. Gram positive and react well to antibiotics.
I am just hoping that this will settle down and its just a little skin abscess and nothing more. But I'll call the surgeons office today and see if they can take a peek.

I dont understand why someone would be on there back for 5 months from an abcess? Its obvious sounding to me that theres a fistula because if its a abcess then its obviously not the same abcess at a minimum.

Oh Heather keeping everything crossed its not returning. If you continue to feel bad or it gets worse get your little hinny to the doc. Hugs!

Thanks Nanners! Its better today thanks to some antibiotic cream and soaking. Ihope its just going to go away. But I feel rotten today. Bloated and not right. This really is a dreaful disease!
The only plus side is if I have to go back to the surgeon.. Dr Hunky Dunky is a real tasty tidbit! The GIs NP isnt nearly as inspirational for me to sexually harrass!
