Oh, my. No nuts, popcorn, corn, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, celery, lettuce, fruit with seeds, no fruit skins or baked potato skins. Nothing greasy, spicy, no raw veggies (although now and then I will eat a few tiny carrots). I can sometimes eat a little chocolate...I drink a small amount of pro-biotic acidophilous milk. I tend to eat pretty much the same always. Cottage cheese with a hard boiled egg for breakfast. Once in awhile I may have a waffle or pancakes or a bowl of Special K or toast. For lunch I might have chicken noodle soup or maybe a turkey sandwich or a burrito shell with turkey inside. Sometimes a bagel, and can eat pizza if it's very light bland sauce with just cheese. I drink cran-grape juice every morning. For dinner I have an omelet or maybe some rice or baked potato or pasta. I can eat a burger if I make it myself with no seasonings, sometimes have fish (talapia, walleye, baked), chicken breast, green beans, peas, or carrots. I like yogurt and now and then can have a small peeled apple or banana or applesauce. I cannot tolerate raisins, anything rough (like Cheetos
), graham crackers...the things I can't eat makes for a longer list than what I can, but I'm doing well. It's weird how even a sprinkled sugar
cookie will feel as though I've eaten razor blades...same with jelly beans or a sugared donut...can't handle that sprinkled sugar like on the orange slices candy. Live and learn, but it was helpful to have been given a dietary guide from the nutritionist when I was diagnosed in the hospital with Crohn's. If I could sit down to one fabulous meal that wouldn't hurt me at all, if I could eat anything I wanted at that one meal it would be...
Crispy Fried Chicken
A HUGE salad with lots of tomatoes
Fried potatoes and onions
Garlic/Cheese bread
Hot fudge sundae with extra peanuts on top...and a big mixed bowl of popcorn, cheetos, and cashews!!!
