As most of you know I usually suffer with more constipation than diarrhea.  But today its decided thats not to be the case.  I have already been in the bathroom 6 times this morning, one of those times hit on the way to work and had to turn around and go back to the house (that was #3).  My usual go to med in times like this is Librax.  It will stop the d and cramps right away and usually am then able to go about my day. 

After the #3 visit I took my Librax and it worked long enough for me to get to work then the additional 3 times happened.  And I have had to take another one because of the d and cramps.

I kinda wonder if I am deceiving myself.  I haven't felt good for about a month.  I first thought it was because I got a nasty case of bronchitis and had to take lots of various meds that all made me sick.  Then I thought maybe my Prontonix was no longer working for me and I was getting a sort of acidy nauseous stomach, so changed back to my prilosec.  That part felt a little better, but still have had some not so good tummy days.  And for about the past 2-3 weeks I have had a sore tongue.  Nothing visible, no white on tongue or anything, just a irritated sore tongue.  Kinda like you burnt it on hot food. 

And now today lots of diarrhea and cramps that my usual go to Librax is not helping.  As well as my low back is hurting, and was pretty bad yesterday too.

I don't feel well, but I don't feel that bad either.  I do feel bad enough that I am kicking myself some for not just staying home like I was thinking of doing this morning. 

So here I go again waiting and watching to see what happens.  Don't you wish you could see inside to see if its the Crohns or something else?  Man I hate being sick!!

Oh dear that doesn't sound like a very promising start to your day :(

I think it is VERY hard to know when it is the crohns starting to flare or just a bug or somehting else. There is a terrible tummy bug going around my work at the moment - like I would notice the difference in my toilet habits!

hey gail, now you know I had/have cd in mouth,throat,etc. the tongue thing would worry me most of all, the D will stop, evan if you had to take 1/2 of your perc to slow it down. but the tongue thing can lead to pred. if that is where flare might be, I had to take pred for 2 months because of mouth flare, but the same would happen to me. those taste buds on tip of tongue would really hurt, just keep eye on that part for sure, I'm flaring a bit AGAIN because of that darn accident, my lawyer said if that persists, it is worth more than soft tissue (whiplash) on a law suit, take care, and your gut was right, you should have stayed home. take care, keep us posted

No not good at all. Didn't you go through something like this a year or so ago? Where you didn't recognize the signs right away. Didn't a short prednisone burst help?

Did you take antibiotics for the bronchitis? Problems from antibiotics can take months to show up.

Hope you find an answer soon.

Nanners.. I know that you've been through so much more than me with Crohn's and other issues, but I wanted to ask you WHEN you take the protonix?
The reason I am asking this is because by nature (PPI's) it interferes with not only good digestion but all the absorption of nutrients.. that's why I take all PPIs at night after I've had all my vitamins during the day etc etc... I might have a snack watching TV or something but nothing I needed to live on. The effects of it by the time I'm eating lunch and dinner the next day are already lessened so there is more of a chance I will absorb more.

Would also like to recommend that you take a bit more librax and/or xanax at night to slow things down more.. believe me I know you have a lot more stuff going on than this.. just wanted to let you know how I've been doing things.. as I also have constipation most of the time and stricturing Crohn's

And as you seem to be having some inflammation issues.. have Indian food with curry that has lots of turmeric (I know you like mexican) might help as well... you can at least mix it into rice with some other spices

Well thanks for all your kind thoughts. I ended up in the bathroom 7 times yesterday. But today I feel fine, no more d, nada. Nothing was stopping that stuff, I took 2 Librax, my percoset multiple times during the day, and even took 1/2 muscle relaxer because my back hurt so much.

I think this morning I figured out the culprit. And its almost sacreligious to me to say this, but..I ate a In n Out hamburger Wednesday after work. Didn't think much of it because afterwards I didn't feel bad or get poopy or anything. But thats the only new or different thing I ate, and must be the culprit. I love In n Out, but also have not eaten one in probably 5 years. So sadly I will make note of the damage and not eat that again.

My mouth still has the burnt tongue feeling and was reading on the net that it might be from the recent antibiotics I took and be like a yeast type reaction.

I will continue to watch things and see how I feel, but today I feel pretty good again. This disease is so wierd:) Hugs!

Nanners, that's crazy that a burger did that to you! I'm so sorry. Glad you're feeling better - but take it easy and be kind to your tummy.

I still am having some wierd tummy issues but not the multiple trips to the bathroom like I had on Thursday. I have a GI appt in a few weeks, so I will discuss it more with him them. I think at least a few tests should be run to make sure all is well in there. Thanks again for your support. Hugs!

So sorry you got sick Nanners. Sometimes it is hard to know if it is the start of a flare, bad food or a slight bug. I think taking meds to decrease the acid in the stomach makes us more prone to get bugs and food poisoning but when you have to take the meds, you gotta take em! I have to take nexium myself. Feel better soon!

So glad today is better. I often feel like I'm decieving myself about the cause of my weird symptoms.
