Stiffness in joints

Hi, I have not posted for a while as I had a resection in September and have, fortunately, been doing well.  I have, however,  been suffering from very stiffness in my knees when I have been sitting for anything over ten minutes or when I get up in the morning.  I am like an old woman trying to get my legs working to walk (I am only 56).  Also my knuckles and finger joints get very stiff.  I have read in the past about joint pain being associated with Crohns, is this what I am suffering from ?  I tried Infliximab before my surgery and there were a lot of peple getting theirs for arthritic problems so I am concerned that I may be now going down that road.  Its bad enough knowing the Crohns could start again without the worry of that.  What does everyone think ? 

about 25% of IBD patients suffer from related joint pain.  You should consider adding a rheumatologist to your team; also, your GI should be familiar with these problems.  My GI put me on sulfasalazine to treat both my IBD and my joint pain a couple of years ago and it has worked well.  For a while there, the pain in my hands and wrists was much more debilitating than my bowel problems.

I am a 21 year old female, and already have joint problems :( I was diagnosed with Crohn's in Sept 2010, and also diagnosed with fairly bad Osteoporosis just a few months ago. I am pretty sure it is not actual arthritis pain, I just have a little swelling and soreness.

I would definitely see a Rheumatologist, I saw one recently and it was so helpful. I am now on Remicade, and the hope is that the Remicade will help with both the Crohn's and the Osteo pain! :)
