oh my i don't want to drink it!!!!! Why me? Why any of us? I feel so trapped in my body sometimes when I realize that at any time my body can turn against me.... and I have to do these tests and drink these potions...

ok half the glass down, half to go, and second prep in 8 hours.... pico salax is actually not bad... I just feel like having a bit of a pity party.

Isn't it something that people with CD who have weaker tummys have to drink these concoctions, and have to poop extra just to get the treatment they need? Where's the justice? Don't we poo enough? oh my...

I'm with you! I am actually stalling getting ready for a doctors appointment. One that my local doctor worked really hard to get me, so I wouldn't have to wait until October to see this specialist. BUT, I know as soon as I walk in his door, the barrage of tests will start. So as happy as I am that I don't have to feel crappy until the fall, I still don't want to have to go to this appointment because it means the beginning of more rounds of tests to figure things out. They can never just use the tests you have already done!

I hope the rest of your prep day goes uneventfully and you pass the exam with flying colors!!!

Thanks Zanne! I finished the first installment... nearly vomited it all back up but managed to keep it down. Now to guzzle the fluids all day and enjoy private toilet time ;)

It feels great to know there are people out there who understand.

It's too bad it's not 'my' potty though- I had to fly 3 hours to come to a hotel to do my prep... but hey, room service clear fluids isn't bad... lol

Yep. Prep is killer. I have at times found myself violently ill from it. NO fun!!! good luck

yah a fun prep is something I havnt had lol. I feel for you though cause I always have a really hard time with them.

I have not been feeling my best of late, and can tell you that I know its because the doc is going to want to do more tests. I think having this disease for so long, makes me dread the tests even more. Hugs to you and hope your scope goes well. Hugs!

Get a good book. I finished one while going through that prep. Thank goodness it was a good book. ( Oh and one of those padded toliet seats( my hunny bought me one for x-mas) are wonderful for the ol bum

oh boy... this prep has gone all wrong.... been vomiting for last 4 hours, and couldn't keep the second dose down. Has anyone out there been like this? will the exam go ahead? I am too sick to drink, have a huge headache, sore back side and i dont think i am cleared out enough. does anyone know if they can do the test maybe after giving an enema?

i am miserable and this prep is probably the worst i ever experienced. it almost feels like an allergic reaction to the pico salax...

Oh, man, that sounds positively horrific! For my second colonscopy, I wound up projectile vomiting all evening. But I hadn't eaten anything much for a few days, so I was pretty well cleaned out by then, anyway. If you're really worried, you can go buy yourself a Fleet enema at the pharmacy--it's much, much easier than the prep, believe me. Or you can just leave things as they are, make sure that you don't eat anything from now until the procedure, and let your doctor know what happened when you're checking in tomorrow morning.

I got deathly, deathly ill the night before my SBFT. I thought it must be some kind of reaction from a new drug, but my doctor and I eventually decided I'd just, coincidentally, gotten a killer 24-hour virus. So you may want to call your doctor's service if you get any worse tonight.

Good luck. This really sucks, doesn't it?

Oh I feel miserable! I guess I'll wait until tomorrow to see what they say but it isn't until 1230 pm so its a long wait yet. This DD gets better and better doesn't it? Oh my... Thx for all your responses.

I am trying to decide if I would prefer to do the prep at home or in a hotel like you. Kind of six or 1/2 dozen I suppose. Have you been able to finish drinking the prep? I forget what they tell you if you start to vomit but I think they say wait and start again later. I hope that you get "cleaned out" OK so you get this over with. Good Luck tomorrow.

You would poo too if you drank this goo....

I tried again, about an hour later, but vomited it all up before getting any down. Just have fingers crossed the dr can help me today. I feel lost, tired and sick.it cost about 5000 in airline tickets alone for me to have this test. I feel like a failure if I can't go thru with it. I swear I will never use this prep again.

Thanks. I am heading there now and my tummy is in knots. I hope they can do the procedure. I haven't eaten in about 2 days plus I did half the prep so fingers crossed.... thanks everyone, this site is one of the things getting me through this misery.

If you haven't eaten in two days and managed to get at least some of the prep down, you should be just fine--at least, in terms of getting the procedure done. I hope the results are good. We're pulling for you!
