I have collected a sum total of $60 for the walk and $50 was from me...I am lousy at asking for donations for something that a) people have no clue about and don't want to hear my story and b) the folks donating don't see anything for their donation.  I am just a really bad fund raiser so I feel guilty.  I am not allowed to ask at work and only 1 friend has come through.

And worst of all....I am starting to wonder if I can participate on the 25th....I have been having really horrbile gut pains for 4 days now that hurt more when I walk.

I really have to learn to say no more forcefully!

haha. I haven't done the CCFC walkathons for the same reason. Where are we supposed to go to the bathroom during all the walking?

I'm in Canada, don't know if they do a walk/run via CCFC but I agree, they wouldn't likely have enough port-o-potties to make it possible for me to support by walk/running for CCFC. Which is really too bad because I'd love to be involved that way since I love exercising and I have a ton of Lululemon!

Actually the potties for our walk are numerous and frequent!  They also throw a heck of a party with music and games and things to do for non-walkers. 

I am just so sore right now, I am not sure I can wal from my desk to the potty here in the office!  I am hoping it is caused by a few things other than a new stricture

I too contemplated doing this, but in the end my senses got the best of me and I decided it would be something I would end up not being able to participate in because of my health. But I applaud those who do, because they are working to make our lives better in the end. A cure would be incredible!

I can tell you the exact moment that my current problem hit because I was on the treadmill, WALKING. There will be no walkathons for me in the near future. It has been since Feb 6th and I am still having blockages despite surgery. I would love to be able to start walking again, my legs are starting to look like flabby sticks!

Habs fan, you should be skaing instead of walking anyhow. I bet you could raise money for that. Besides even if canucks can not relate to this DD they would relate to a skateathon

Get a cane . No one asks me to walk anywhere ,,,for fear they will be hit by a cane .

Hey Dave....believe it or not I can't ice skate....I ripped both my ankles apart when I was younger and find even the best skates can't help.  Drat....but I am thinking about getting my nieces new sports team to do a charity event for CCFA----she's a roller derby girl!  Who says things are not interesting in my family hehehehe.  Well...a few more days to try and collect some cash...and my gut feels a little better today.

Oh and I might as well admit it....I bet on the bruins for this series.  Oh the hockey gods are going to strike me down and my Bruin loving husband will never let me hear the end of this!

I love them and so do my kids! I don't really worry about how much I raise, I figure any is more than they had. I have had good luck posting it on my facebook page. There are numerous pottys and they always have a ton of stuff for the kids to do.

Might I suggest to those of you who are trying to fundraise, reach out to your CCFA rep and have them help you get some ideas. That's what they are there for! Most of the time, it's a fear of asking. The worst thing that comes out of asking is a no. ASk, aks, ask.
