Pain below chest starting of stomache

Does anyone else have pain here? I have been getting pains in this area over the last bit or so seeming even more frequently as of late. Typically all my stomach pains are far bottom left or far bottom right side of belly. This is center under chest start of belly. It hurts to push it when it hurts lol... go figure. Any ideas? Going to talk to my doctor about it on the 30th. It isnt the worste pain I have had but makes me very uncomfortable and frustrated. Just trying to figure out if this is likely my crohns or perhaps something else like indigestion or acid reflux? Right now im 3 weeks into prednisone and still having some bad moments but in general feeling much better.

More than likely since you are on Prednisone it is the culprit causing you to get acid reflux from it. Sometimes folks have to take something like Prilosec while on Pred because it upsets some peoples guts. Hope that helps a little. Hugs!

Thanks nanners I will have to pick some up to try, cant hurt. I was actually thinking that myself that it mighta been the pred.

Pretty sure I still have that! I Know they took out my appendix and some colon and ilium but I dont think they ever touched my gall bladder.

Thanks for the input tsitodawg! I really hope it isnt my gall bladder but its nice to bring it to the docs attention of possibilities on the 30th in case they didnt put two and two together. I'm hoping its the pred but to think of it I have had this feeling not on prednisone. I also have some nausea at times as well. I certainly cant afford to miss much work with a gall bladder surgery. Time will tell I will keep you updated. Hope your doing good.

I have had those issues even after my gallbladder was removed. Some of it is gas, some is acid. Have been on prednisone for 4 months now and an endoscopy and biopsy reveal I have ulcers caused by the pred. Am on omeprazole 2x a day now plus I have found that drinking a lot of water helps the acid problem and displaces any stomach gas and helps with the pain.

Gallbladder pain is really bad, and I mean ER bad. And that doesn't sound like what you are experiencing, but I could be wrong. But I tend to lean more to the Pred causing you acid reflux much like OTD described. Hugs!

Thats also a good point nanners. There has been much worse pains going on than this. Time will sort it out I hope.

Coming in really late here, but I had something like that, it's what led to me getting diagnosed. My GI doc said it was "transverse colon cramping". Typically when I have it, it means that my meds aren't working and a flare is coming....

Hope you have started to feel better since this post!

Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in.  I second what nanners said about gall bladder pain.  I had 2 ambulance trips to the ER prior to having my gall bladder out (we live a long way from the hospital).  I was writhing on the floor in agony when the attacks hit.  At one point, there was projectile vomiting.  This was all before they found out it was actually gall stones.... so many of them, my gall bladder had collapsed in on them. 

It could be one of many things but I just wanted to throw out there that although my Crohn's is in my terminal ileum, I typically only have pain just below my sternum.

Yeah, I agree with the others that it might NOT be gallbladder. When I had attacks it felt like the worst heartburn I've ever had in my life and sometimes it felt like I was having a heart attack! You could have ulcers in your stomach or esophagus, just be sure to have it checked out right away. <3

Yah when I went to my GP he didn't seem overly concerned about the symptoms. I haven't had that pain again in a couple of weeks at this point either! I go back to my GP on the 27th just to see if it had gotten worse or anything etc. It has gotten better in fact. Who knows! Not sure when my next appointment with my GI is.... postal workers on strike. I hope they have the sense to call me for my next appointment date lol

I agree with the acid reflux but I also get that pain with my hiatal hernia. I don't know which is worse...

Yah he mentioned a few things it could be. I thought I had an appointment soon after this post with my GI after that last GP appointment. I called them and left a message today in case it hasn't came in the mail cause of the strike. I said if they were smart enough to call me lol... Guess I can be smart and call them. hehe

I was getting these same types of pain attacks so I went to the doctor.  He put me on 10 mg Prednisone, and 400 mg Asacol.  Now the pain attacks seem more frequent.....mine feels like massive amounts of gas that won't go one way or the other!  I hope you find relief soon.
