OT pet peeve

I don't know how many of you guys wear glasses but thanks to me walking into the middle of a dirt fight at a very young age I have had to wear them for a long long time. Trouble is keeping them clean. No matter how careful I am they get scratched . When working I sweat into them and cant see . If I take them off , I cant find them. But the number one thing that ticks me off is the smears . I don't know what it is or where it comes from but its wont just wipe off. No,,,, you have to go find the cleaner and wash and dry them . Just before bed I clean them and put them on the nightstand in case I need to do something silly like see where the heck I'm going in the middle of the night . Even if I don"t get up at night , bright and early next morning , you guessed it , smears . I think its fairies. Yep. I think every night the little glasses fairies come out and wipe their little fairy fannies on my glasses . Its the only logical explanation . One night I'm going to put out one of those sticky rat catching paper things on the night stand and then we will see what gets caught in the goo . I hesitate to do that though because with my luck that will be the night I need to go to the ER and if you have every tried to get your hands , glasses, hair , eyelashes, nose and lips off of one of those super sticky pads, while trying to drive , well , you would just keep wondering about fairies too .

I have more pairs of readers than I know what to do with, cause my eye sight has changed so much in the last few months. I have upped the strength 3 times since January! I have them all over the house, but the best place to find a pair is usually the top of my head. That is where the smears come from for me. I don't know if its my hair, or hair product, but after a few go rounds with the top of my head I can't see anything out of the lens. So off to clean it I go, or I find a pair that is still clean!

AG - I have the progressives too. I don't have trouble walking with them, but they don't work nearly as well as just plain old drug store readers for READING, so I really only use my "good" glasses for things like ball games, movies, night driving. I have a very mild distance correction, but I am still well within the driving test limits. But when I want to really have everything really sharp I will wear the big guns.

It really is an insult to get old!

AG , I take mine off and leave them in some pretty hard to find places too. I cant wear them when i do close work work in my shop so they end up on top of the drill press or some other tool . They are thin wire frame so they are almost invisible and with them not on my face I cant see crap anyway so I spend a lot of time looking and practicing some foul language . When I find them they are covered in sawdust so I blow them off with the air compressor . I use to wear contacts but cant any more . Other than losing my mind , my eyesight was the worse thing about aging .

pmedic, I can see the moment my eyes open in the morning. Very blurry , but I can see. Thats how I find my glasses on the night stand . Dont think i could sleep , on a pillow anyway, with glasses on.
