Hi There,
I have been having a weird sensation on my cervix which travels up to the navel area which feels like a feather tickling all the way up. My cervix feels heavy and also when weeing I feel a tickling sensensation but not a burning or a soreness as I have had urine tests and they all came back clear but also an urge to keep having a wee and a feeling of heaviness on my cervix.

My doctor did an examination and took some swabs which showed thrush. My doctor has also requested that I go for a Coloscopy to exam my Cervix.

I have had a recent ultra-sound and my bladder and womb and ovaries all look normal but my worry is if I had Cervical Cancer would the ultra-sound show any abnormalites in the womb and ovaries?

It would be unlikely for cervical cancer to show up in an ultrasound of your ovaries and bladder. Did your doctor do a pap smear as well?? That is the best test to see if there are changes in the cervix.

Do you have Crohns Disease? If so, maybe the beginnings of a fistula?? Sorry don't have more info. Hugs!

I was diagnosed with cervical cancer many years ago now. My symptoms basically was a heavy
watery discharge. I was treated with cryogenics, (colposcopy) very successfully. Follow up treatment
was 6 monthly smears for the first 3 years, then annually for the remainder of the time. I've had no
reoccurance.

I have to say, the symptoms that you have, are nothing like mine, so hopefully it's not what you are
thinking. Good luck!!

Thank You for your reply and i really am so pleased to hear you have had no re-occurance.

I suffer with anxiety where my health is concerned and always tend to think the worst case scenario.......stupid i know!

Anyway my GP has requested I have a colposcopy next week after she did an internal examination and she thinks I may have polyps....hence the reason I am so nervous.

I had a polyp removed from my uterus about 2 years ago. It was a piece of cake. I was nervous about it but they put me out and sent me home the same day. They removed the polyp and did a D & C. I had a very small amount of bleeding for a few days and that was it. Didn't even have to take anything for pain! I hope it goes well for you.

Did you have any symtons to know you had a polyp on your cervix or was it done by a pap smear?

I had cervical cancer and cancerous polyps about 10 years ago.  My symptoms were very few, apart from smelly discharge and bleeding after intercourse.  I had a knife cone biopsy, when the removed the lower part of my cervix during surgery.  I was fine and dandy about 2 weeks after that.

Your problems sound different

I just recently had a hysterectomy due to cervical cancer that returned after having the cancerous area removed by lazer. Likely cause of return was being on high dose remicade (or so doc thinks). My only symptoms were bleeding and sometimes pain after intercourse. Your symptoms sound different.
A colposcopy is basically a high tech pap where they are able to do biopsies, remove polyps and abnormal cell areas.

Hi There,
I know this sounds really unintelligent but is the Cervix attached to the Uterus and would the doctors look at that area whilst doing a colposcopy?

Sophia, I think you might benefit a lot by looking up some basic information (say, Wikipedia?) about the structure of the female reproductive organs. I read a good book many years ago called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" and I remember being really mad that so much great information was NOT taught to me when I was a teen. If you're interested that's a great read.

So yes, the cervix is the "neck" of the uterus. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cervix) It is at the bottom of the uterus, top of the vagina.

Hi There,
Thank You very much for your post and I am so glad to hear everything went well for you.
I have now had bleeding in between periods and my anxiety is really taking over.
I can feel like something is stuck up inside my vagina near the cervix area, does this sound like it could be a sign of Cervical Cancer?
