Hi
I am new here and do not know if I have Crohn's, but I have dxed lupus and have taken methotrexate in the past for 2 yrs. Six months of oral and 18 months of injections. Let me tell you, the injections are so much better. Bypasses the stomach, so it got rid of the associated nausea, which was horrible with the oral dose. The injection is easy, was not painful at all for me. The needle is so very tiny and I never felt it at all. I gave it to myself every Monday night at 10PM. That way, if I was going to get tired or sick, it would hit me about Tuesday afternoon and I would be much better by weekend and could possibly enjoy friends and family that worked during the week. I gave myself the injection in the upper thigh. Easy place to see and easy to do yourself. Does not have to go into a muscle. I did not have any hair loss with it either. Just a lot more fatigue than usual.
Just remember to only take it once a week at the same time each week and always remember to take your folic acid. I hope this makes you feel better about taking it and I also hope it makes your disease much much better!
