Took my NG tube out today to go swimming (it had to be changed anyways.) Well tried to get it put back in and it was hitting some kind of resistance. Yes, it hurt. Trying again tomorrow. I've cried for the past 2 hours. I feel like I can't do this anymore. I hate thinking that kids have to go through even worse than me, and i know I'm kind of one of the lucky ones, but this is so hard. I just want to have a normal teenage life!

Hi Alliex3... I've never had an NG tube, so I can't offer advice on that. But, I wanted to send a hug your way. This disease is so so so hard... I can't imagine being as young as you and dealing with it. It's not much of a consolation, I'm sure, to know that you are going to be such a wise person at an early age. It's very obvious from your posts that you are very strong. I'm sorry that you have to go through this...

I have had an NG tube a couple of times it is miserable, very miserable. I have only had to have one in the hospital and never at home so I just can not imagine. I am sorry you are so young going through this. I was 26 when I was diagnosed and eventually had to had an ostomy which I had to get used to and am happy to have now because before I was in diapers. With anything we adjust and get stronger. We learn to deal with the good and the bad. The truth is ...it sucks a llix, it really does but we learn to be stronger from it all. If you need to talk you can email me or find me on "chat" in the evenings. There is a lot of people that can help. I would hope to see you there or get an email from you. Thanks guys. I try to be strong and think of those who are less fortunate but sometimes it gets so hard. I just want to be normal again.

Sorry you have to go through this Allie . I wont tell you to be strong, you are already . I wont tell you any other crap about the people that have worse things either because when its you its very personal . I will tell you that life is worth living even when there are bad times. The older you get the more you will have to enjoy and love . Know that there are people that care about you . People close to you and even people you dont know . Take it from an old turtle , there is no normal life , only life . Enjoy every moment you can and when things are bad hold on to those moments .

Oh by the way I have had many NG tubes. My best tip is to ask for a little water and drink that as they are inserting the tube. It helps it to go down. Hugs!

Aww you poor girl. My heart goes out to you sweetie, and I'm another old 'turtle' only the female
kind, who agrees wholeheartedly with what the other old turtle told you.
As for putting your own NG tube down, you're braver than me. I promise to give my first born if
they don't insert one. (it never works, I guess they don't need any more kids :) ) I think the
advice that Nanners gave might help, also a little KY jelly on it.
