I'm so scared I might have Crohns

Th Er may be helpful for many thing, such as pain control for Crohns, if you can get them to beleive you.

You need to get to a GI now, get The Prometheus test or inflamation tests done....

Even if they cant find the "smoking gun" persay, Many Gi's are smart enough to diagnose crohns and get you started on one or more of the meds that will help with it if the symptoms match.

Don't hesitate, to get to A GI specialist, use the er if you have to, and pain is an excellent reason to, dont let the hospital convince you to give up and stay home in pain with potential mis-diagnosis, get the testing from a real GI and force them to find the truth.

Dont give up, I suffered greatly in the beginning, once we figured out what it was, I have been able to gaina much greater control of the diseaes through the Doctors help as well as my own extensive research online, like this forum for example, excellent source for info, advice, compassion and family.

Thanks your reply helped to ease a little of the worry. I'm so afraid I'm going to die from it. I can't go to the ER and I can't make a GI appointment until monday. I just want to get this over with and find out what it is because this anxiety of not knowing is the worst part.

Hypochondriac, you are not going to die of Crohn's, please stop panicking. I'm sorry you're feeling so bad, and it totally sucks to be nauseated and vomiting, with bloody diarrhea. Awful stuff, I completely feel for you, but not life threatening.

When you're feeling so sick, the thing to do is eat lightly (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast), maybe even some broth. Rest your gut. Rest your body by staying in bed. Drink lots of fluids. Do something relaxing like watching a movie or reading a good book, or get the fall Vogue and just spend all day looking at the crazy fashions.

When Monday comes, call a gastroenterologist and get an appointment. When the appointment desk tells you they don't have anything for 4 or 5 weeks, tell them, calmly but firmly, that you've been having bloody diarrhea, vomiting and are feeling really really awful and can they please get you in this week. Hopefully they will be able to squeeze you in. If you don't know any GIs, spend today with your computer looking up different doctors in your area, ask your friends or your parents' friends who they recommend, ask your regular doctor for 3 names and call all of them.

If you cannot keep down fluids (you try to drink, but then vomit it back up - you try again, more slowly, but still vomit), then go to the ER for an IV. Other than that, what is the ER going to do for you? The ER is not a place to get a diagnosis. If you can keep down fluids, you will survive until you see the GI. Really, you will.

Since there are people in your family with Crohn's, you can see that it is not a death sentence. A lot of Crohn's patients have problems that can be diagnosed as GERD or IBS, and often it takes a while to get to the right diagnosis. You have to be patient and commit to firmly pursue a successful diagnosis - that is, the one that gets you feeling healthy and well.

I certainly understand how worried you are, but worry comes from the unknown. I have a daughter your age, so I can understand totally how you must feel. 

As others have indicated, you absolutely must get in to see a GI. Can't stress that enough. Family Dr.s, just don't have the knowledge of digestive disorders to deal with what you're going through. 

I assure you that once you get some tests completed and know what you're up against, things will start looking up.

My Daughter has Crohn's, and while it can be a constant source or axiety, there is good treatment out there. You may only have a mild case as well. 

Hopefully you have the support of your family and Parents. That would help considerably as well.
