Hey Everyone.

I have had crohns for over 12 years and never had blood when going the toilet, however in the past week I have had it every time. I am not sure to be concerned or not as I know crohns can do this and maybe I am flaring. What does everyone think?

Should I contact my specialist?

Hi

Have you never before have bleednings then you absolutly should contact your GI.
Someting have changed. Could be a flare or you´ve gotten a hemorrhoid?

Its not a hemorriod I know for sure. I do not have any pain that that has never been there before just the bleeding. Its been going on for a week and is quite odd.

Just wondered if anyone else experiences this.

I´ve got crohn colitis and I bleed sometimes. But i often also get pain combined with the bleedning as i go to the toilett. I think you should check it up as your disease have changed pattern just to be shore that it´s ok. why go around worrying if you dont need to?

I think you should get on a meal replacement and heal up that wound yourself. Dont call your doctor. Sleep will heal that wound. Also make sure your getting some walks in the day to get blood flow and oxygen in your gut.

Currently 25/F/Crohns
Diagnosed at age 14
Current medications: Remicade

I dont think your advice is a good one, sorry.
What if it´s any form of dysplasia in other word someting growing inside?!?
As we got an inflamationdisease that´s chronic there are an increased risk of cancer. Don´t you think it´s better to exclude this before one tries diets?

I´m not saying that you have cancer Darren. I just think it would be better to find out why your bleeding before you try and heal it.
Then can you deside what you will do about it.

I have crohn's colitis as well and it's common to bleed when CD is affecting your colon (but it should be bright blood not dark, dark blood means old blood likely comming from higher up in the GI tract) I do not get pain when I bleed and I haven't had bleeding since I started taking bee propolis and probiotics.

You most definitely should report any changes to your GI...if CD commonly affects your small intestine then there's a good chance that it may now be affecting your colon (it can affect more than one area at a time).

Call your doc asap, better to be safe than sorry.
