apparently i'll be doing these NG feeds at least until September 16th, when i see an endichrinologist (spelling?)

so i'm guessing i'll be doing the feeds longer than that, until i start Remicade. I can't wait until then. I'm going crazy and depression is going to drive me crazy.

Frustrating I'm sure, do you talk to someone professionally? I think that may be very beneficial for you during this time to help cope and deal with all this, it's alot for a person especially such a young age!

Hi,
It is good news that you are going to see an endocrinologist-they will be able to rule out any other issues re development although it sounds like they have caught you 'early enough' with diagnosis and with the liquid feeds.
DS went to see one too but in his case all his blood work came back as normal it was just the late diagnosis and malnutrition that hindered his growth/development.

Allie, this may sound like a silly question, but I have the impression that one of the things you're finding hard is that your friends are able to have lots of fun during the summer, and you are feeling as if you're missing out. Is that right?

Do you have any friends who you trust and like enough to come round and have a slumber party while you are doing your feeds? I'm thinking movies; board games; nail polish; craft; things like that...

Just an idea.

Ivy, yeah, that's pretty much how i'm feeling. I was on continuous feeds until July 7th, and no one even cared to visit me or ask how i was or anything, and now i'm just on the nightly feeds, and its pretty much the same.. I don't really want to bother giving my time up and stressing over people who aren't there for me, but on the other hand, if i did that, i would have no one..

Oh, boy! can I relate to that. My "friends" pretty much ignored me when I was in hospital on tpn (aged 17) too.

Can you go swimming during the day? I'm guessing not, because you probably have the tube taped to your face (at least, that's what I had to do when I was unplugged). Is there anything else you can do outside, to be with people and maybe meet some nicer ones?

Failing everything else, maybe we can all group together and have a virtual slumber party with you :-).

I don't blame you for being lonely. Being sick is hard at the best of times, but can be especially lonely when you're young, I think. :-(

Do you have other places you can visit online for company? This forum can be pretty slow when you're desperate for companionship.

Well, my mom said she would make an appointment to see a therapist, so maybe that will help..
