In my throat?

My doctor told me that I have crohns in my throat and my anus, as well as a few places in my tract and whatnot.

Is anyone else effected in their anus or throat? How does that effect you? I don't know how its effecting me (if at all) or how much it will later on.

It's funny you said about the throat. This past weekend, I had what felt like a swollen gland in my throat. I would press on it on my left side, and it felt tender and sore. It almost felt like a cankor sore, only in my throat! Reading your post makes me think I may have had a sore in my throat too. Funny thing is it's gone now. Weird!

I did read that Crohn's can be from throat to anus so I had my suspiscions. You are definitely not alone. I am also suffering with a major flare now and can barely keep anything but Gatorade and cooked potates down. Hang in there! Hope you feel better.

 

The title of your post grabbed my attention. I too, have a sore throat, one like that one one gets after an endoscopy. I thought it was a flu but I don't have any other symptoms. I need to drink a lot of water to ease the pain. I wake up a lot at night to drink. I find that the pain becomes more intense when I swallow my Nexuim and Pentasa. Small pills are not a problem for me.
As for Crohn's in the anus, the beginning of my sufferings was in my anus. I have had anal fissures and skin tags  long before I was diagnosed with indeterminate colitis. This year, pain became worse and all the local lidocaine stopped working for me. A proctosigmoidoscopy was performed, biopsies were taken and the diagnosis was chronic proctitis. Do you have severe anal pain? Does this pain radiate upwards? Do you feel any pressure over the rectum? Is there any blood or rectal discharge? What eases my pain now is Pentasa enema and if I skip a dose, I can suffer from nonstop diarrhea.
I used to see a surgeon but he told me that my treatment was the responsibility of a gastroenterologist and not a surgeon. The most important thing is that he advised me to avoid both nuts and tomatoes and this really works. Hope you feel better soon!

I have it in the mouth into the stomach..I use to know a bad flare had arrived by a burning sensation in my tongue like it was burnt with no taste, mouth sores, swollen glands in my throats, esoph. irritation and spasms, and gastritis..My CD has not been just my intestines..Gall stones and kidney stones also was another present..The doctor also told me that CD had attacked my glands..I am now on thyroid medication..My immune system does not like me! I also flare when I get the flu or an infection..
