I'm currently taking 30mg of Prednizone and 100mg of mercaptopurine for my CD. Prednizone says take with food. Other says take without food. How long should I wait after eating/before eating to take my mercaptopurine? Doctor didn't say but I usually try to wait at least 45 mins since that seems like a good amount of time.

Most people find that taking mecaptopurine at night helps to alleviate any side effects. For some people it makes them a bit tired or nauseous, so taking at night lets them sleep right through it. Prednisone should be taken as early in the morning as possible to avoid the insomnia that goes along with that.

Thank you I'll do this from now on. Ive been taking mercapto after school and pred with my breakfast which has been working pretty well but ill try taking it before bed
