We were in the Petsmart store yesterday perusing the instruction for applying cat claw covers. Yes our little refugee is declawed but only her front paws . We are finding scratches on our floor from her rear paws . She likes to run around and hide from us only to pounce when we pass by and we would never have her go through any declawing of her back feet so we are looking at the little slip on caps called soft paws . However , I digressed . There was a young man in the store with his puppy on a lead . The puppy was perhaps a pit bull mix so you could tell he would be a larger dog when grown . As I stood looking at the shelves of goodies with maybe 3 other people the dog had a large BM on the floor to the left of me . I did not see him but suddenly the air was filled with the odor . If you know anything about the inner workings of a puppy you know that their pooh has an industrial strength stench , so as the odor wafted down the isle and literally filled the whole store the couple on my right turned and glared at me as though I were to blame somehow. The stares were so intense that I started to wonder if I had indeed passed a silent but deadly without my own knowledge .I remember thinking I needed to find the restroom and check my drawers . I think we were all equally relieved to see the dog dodo on the floor, but I could not help but think to myself , " Puppy , I know just how you feel ." Well some poor employee cleaned up the mess and I hope didn't have to skip lunch , but the smell lingered until we were leaving the store . I was chuckling to myself as we left thinking , been there , done that , having dropped a stink bomb in a store isle and disappeared around the corner before being detected . Good job dog . I've been one upped .
