Hey guys.. I am off to california in two weeks ..taking the kids to Disneyland and checking out LA area. My crohns is stable but aggravating. My main issues are:
Urgency- buscpan and lomotil help a lot
Pouch keeps falling off due erythema under wafer- trying a new product as we speak and not soaking in tub/ avoiding water as much as poss. If i end of changing the pouch everyday, i will have to. I Really dont want to but its better than expolding feces at disney..
pG- ??
Joints and butt pain- extra meds if needed..breaks, easing into the day.
I travel with a pharmacy just in case, bringing 18 meds..yikes. Heres what im planning to do:
1. Trvl with meds including cipro/ flagyl just in case it gets bad quickly
2. Bringing my sister to help me with the kids ( dh just started a new job so he cant go)
3. Getting my infusion the week before i leave
4. Travel medical insurance
5. Bringing potein drinks and protein bars for myself for breakkie..the less carbs i have the better my body seems to behave
6. Getting extra days on the hopper so i can leave the parks as needed and take extra days to go easy and leisurely.
7. Take a hotel across the street so transportation isnt a pita.
8. Bring breakkie for the kids so i can rest while they eat. The less energy i expwnd while not in the parks, the better.
Does anyone know of any other things i can do or tips to make traveling with ths disease easier? Would love some suggestions and advice!!

Yup, sounds good. The only other thing you might want to consider is prednisone.
If you're flying, ask the airline to sit you a little closer to the washroom in an aisle seat. Makes it easier and faster to do our business.

I agree with Roni, I always try to sit close to the bathrooms in the plane. Gives me some comfort. Have a good time!

I am not sure but it would not surprise me if Disneyland has a program to support folks like us. You might have to fill a form or get something from your doc but if it was me I would give them a call and check to see.
Just a thought

thanks, guys!
Dave- DL does have something called a GAC (guest access card) anyone can get one without medical documentation. I was thinking of getting one for oldest ds actually as he's got asperger syndrome and can melt down from time to time in crowds.. but he did great in WDW so I think he should be fine. I'm thinking of bringing earplugs and a hat to shield out some of the sensory stuff.
I do usually get stuck next to the washroom actaully, which I like bc its so handy, and when I can't see it I hate getting up to go and having to wait in the aisle as I have social anxiety..most ppl hate being near the washroom and I fly on standby passes so thats where we end up/ Fine by me!! Thanks, guys!
