Any Ideas?

I have not been on this site in a long time and I found it comforting to see so many people I remember fondly.

Here's the scoop. I had a resection at the terminal ileum in 2002 and have been doing well. I began taking Librax in 2009 for cramping. In July my husband and I both got food poisoning from Subway and I haven't been the same since. I finally saw my GI in August and I have had a CT scan, blood work and a colonoscopy yesterday...all showing no symptoms. I have D up to six times a day and bloating which becomes quite painful.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do next?

Hi Paulad,
I had salmonella a few years ago. At first my docs thought it was an exacerbation of Crohn's and I was on high doses of Prednisone which only made everything worse. They finally did a stool culture and found the Salmonella. Flagyl cleared up the worst of the D, but I had pretty severe IBS for several months after the infection cleared up. We Crohnnies tend to get bacterial imbalance pretty easily, where our healthy counterparts recover easier. Ask your doc about a round of Flagyl or cipro to see if it will help. Sometimes it is hard to detect food poisoning even with a stool culture, so my doc treats based on symptoms sometimes. Sorry you are so miserable. I lost about 30 pounds over about 6 months time before I finally got better.
