Hi, we are going to be moving to the UAE soon and I was not worried about
getting my meds there until I read a post here on HealingWell (from 2008 mind you) where a lady says she had problems getting Pentasa in Abu Dhabi.
That scared me a bit, if you cannot get a basic Crohn´s medication there, it might be much harder than I thought. But- the post was from 2008.
Is anybody here who lives in UAE ? Could you please give me some tips on where to go, possibly a name of a good GI?
I do realise I´m asking a lot, but you never know...
Thanks for any input.

Hi, my dad lived in Abu dhabi a little while ago and after having a nasty flare up when I visited him and had to be flown back to the uk, he looked into GIs and treatment in the area in case it ever happened again while I was out there and couldn't be flown out. I remember he said there was some sort of American based clinic out there that had a GI and even treatments such as remicade I believe.
I'll try and speak to him over the weekend and see if he remembers anything about
it (he's since moved back to the uk and it's been a while since we talked about
that so memory is a bit hazy!) I'll post back once I've found out more. There's so many expats in the UAE I'd be very surprised if there weren't at least a few clinics like that. Sorry this prob hasnt been thy helpful but i'l try and see if I can find out more for u!

im from Dubai and have lived there for 16 years and i can tell you there are so many wonderful doctors and fantastic hospitals including the Harvard school of medicine that has set up shop in Dubai that you wont have any trouble meeting a few and figuring your treatment from there.
