When I was 36 I had a complete hysterectomy myself. I was miserable for about
3 weeks out of every month. At the time, I had had Crohns for a longtime but was in a long remission and didn't realize that the Crohns was the cause of most of my misery. I had already had my children, so I finally said get it out of me.
I will tell you I had a complete hysterectomy and I am really glad that I did. I take my little synthetic estrogen pill everynight and no more problems for me. If you keep your ovaries you will still have the PMS type symptoms. That was one big reason I did the complete vs the type you are having, is becuz I wanted those PMS symptoms gone too. I had gone to a class about having hysterectomies and thats where I learned that if you keep the ovaries you still have the PMS symptoms becuz you still produce the progesterin which is the hormone that causes PMS. Also, my Mom had a hysterectomy at about the same age and kept her ovaries and still went thru a painful menopause. So I didn't want all that so I told them to take it all out. I had no menopause issues at all.
Honestly, to me at least, it was the best decision I ever made. All that misery was over for me. Good luck with your surgery, I am sure you will be glad its done after you recover. Hugs!
