I just wanted to say here thank you to all of our veterans we have here and others you all may have in your homes. 

For those of you who are veterans or have family in the active military there are many food chains also honoring your services I wish there was more we could do to honor those who have served this country.

I saw something on the news a few days ago . A soldier killed in Afghanistan had some of his body disposed of in a land fill with medical waste , instead of being put in his coffin . Made me hot under the collar . His wife is very upset and rightfully so . I guess I just don't understand what passes for respect these days .
Thanks to all our guys and galls in uniform and to those that have served in the pass . Here's to the day when no sons are daughters need to go to war . Until that day , Thanks for all the sacrifices .

We have Veterans day, while in the UK we have Remembrance day, also known as Poppy day. So
at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month,' We shall remember them'

I will serve those who served us tonight at my Elks Lodge.  Thank you to all of our Veterans - especially those dear sweet strong folks of WW2 as we see them passing us by and those who continue to suffer for us after they return home.

Unfortunately, some of our Canadian soldiers have also died in Afghanistan. We recently changed the name of one of Canada's major highways to, "The Highway of Heroes". When our fallen soldiers come home, driven down that highway, hundreds of ppl stand on the bridges above with our flag and God Bless Them signs, etc. It's so sad, but so wonderful to honour them.

We have the lives we live because of the sacrifice of our veterans.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of the veterans out there and a huge thank you to my husband who developed Crohn's Disease after serving his country.  He not only fought in a war, he continues to battle against Crohn's.  I love this man !

This, a day of Remembrance, remembering the freedoms that we share and cherish today. Honouring those who served and died for us: 2 World Wars, Korea, UN Missions, and Afghanistan. Canada always has and will always be there when needed. Lest we Forget

It was lovely today that at 11am for the two minute silence the town was still and you could hear a pin drop. It is especially poinant as I work in a garrison town and we have had some of our soldiers injured in Afghanistan and that brings it home to you.

Thoughts to all who gave their lives so we are free to live ours.

roni and all, we have a bridge here by Ft Lewis in WA that was named freedom bridge after 9-11. and has had flag wavers and ribbons every saturday since! over 10 years! its like a giant tailgate thing. they wave to all the cars going in the main gate at the fort..
