Pig Whipworm Ingestion for Crohn's Remission?

I heard a recent BBC broadcast about this. They said that folks in Buenos Aires, who had MS, were allowed to stay infected with naturally occuring local worms instead of being treated for the worms. The report said that the progress of the disease was Completely stopped in the worm infrected folks but MS got worst in those folks who dewormed IIRC. They went on to say that worms were being tested for other auto immune disease like Crohn's. If they work I would much rather have worms than Remicade etc.

Does anyone have a link where they post updates on this clinical trial?

From the little I have read the side effects of this particular worm are none but we will need to wait and see. The BBC report on MS was dramatic. If Crohn's benefits as well I will be looking to try this I think. Of course talk is cheap lol

I know some folks on thid forum have used TSO if I am not mistaken but with my memory lately I could be mistaken.  if I cannot have this link up here please mods remove it but the company that is working on TSO is Ovamed http://www.ovamed.org/ they are overseas.  They have info on med studies etc

Sign me up! I work in the veterinary field so it's almost quite whimsical that the exact thing I am telling owners to beware about, I ACTUALLY WANT! I sometimes think, that in the human medical field, certain details are hidden from the public- for example, when they find something that is mainly successful! Whipworms might make some big drug companies go out of business (oh no!). :)

I am completely onboard with this line of reasoning.

Ah now I see.  Somehow Roni was on my ignore list.  Goofy I didn't even know I had an ignore list!

Gross it was, which is why it is BURNED into my memory!  I would love to replace that one with something important or sexy or ANYTHING.
