Sad post about Nanners and Ivy....

that's crazy! But the owners of the forum have their own standards, and hopefully that was communicated clearly when Nanners and Ivy agreed to be moderators. I think moderating is a very challenging responsibility that requires patience, finesse, excellent communication skills and the ability to not take yourself too seriously. Perhaps Nanners and Ivy will see this as a gift because I'm sure they're tired in many ways of having to deal with us at our crankiest. I don't know how the forum owner(s) will find anyone to replace them - they were valuable and exceedingly good at moderating this place.

I am as shocked as you are Dunny. I have felt nothing but LOVE and SUPPORT from these wonderful Moderators. They have given freely of their time and to be "let go" with out so much as a word of warning just breaks my heart. I am not sure I want to continue to be a part of a community that treats its members in such a manner.

They have regulated the forums according to Peters rules, they give good sound advice, support everyone, even if it is just a hug and a kind word. No post goes unanswered for long under their watch, but then they are "released" from duty because, Oh that's right, we don't know why? I am just beside myself with worry for them and upset at their treatment. Is this not how society in general tends to treat those of us who are disabled. We are just cast aside, as useless. How can a Community based on Support treat its long term members and moderators this way.

I will be seriously considering any further participation here.

Actually I am almost positive it was a post about three days back where a member attempted to give some advice and many other members joined the thread and a war broke out between certain members, I thought Ivy and Nan did a very good job of trying to contain the situation/thread, but some heated words were exchanged, the thread was deleted very quickly.

I wouldnt want to go into details, as I am sure the current mods have rules about that.

I hope just posting this does not get me barred from this forum, it is my lifeline.

I hope Nan and Ivy can still post here, and not just read the posts.

I don't know whre I would be without them.

I sincerley hope that whatever actions were taken might be re-reviewed after a little time blows over.

There is so much love here.

I really hope I don't get myself or anyone else in trouble for this, I just happened to be on the morning the flame war on the post was going on.

I will miss Nanners and hope she continues to post...Sorry to say, but I've been on this board for a long time and have butted heads with Ivy, so I'm not surprised...after all, to be honest I noticed that she was posting OT about games online and stuff in that nature (I saw one post recently where Ivy took it off topic from the original topic) and those are against forum rules to my understanding so when a mod takes it upon themselves to break rules then expect them to be let go so I'm not surprised but as far as Nanners goes that one does shock me a bit.

I hope it doesn't cause either one of them to spiral into a stressed-induced flare over this. I know what it would do to me if I was in that situation.

Jon; I so remember that, if it's the one I'm thinking, I was involved in it. truthfully, I thought it was powerful thread. It brought out the inner thought s of us about our disease, so when we can talk about this issue,(huge Issue) for some of us, me included. it is what it is. I thought they did excellent job, in letting us talk, then it did get kinda heated, but those are views from us that go very deep, if you know what I mean. I see know reason for them to get axed from the Mod job, but like Kaz said, it will probable be blessing in disguise, a little break from HW. JMHO

I'm pretty upset. I haven't been here long but I do know those two have helped me SO much! They are like the 'parents' of the Crohn's forum. I'm pretty sure I know the post that probably caused this crud to happen.    don't know if I feel sad, anxious, hurt, worried, angry, frustrated or what! I don't know who to direct these feelings twords either. I don't want to say anything that will get me into 'trouble' so I'll just stop while I'm ahead.

  Nanners & Ivy can moderate whatever I say if it's an issue! I undersand if they would not want to post here anymore but they seem to care too much to drop this place entirely.

   I love you guys & am very thankful for everything you have done for me!

Wow, I'd never have believed this if it wasn't so attested ! Was a review procedure gone through ? Or was it simply a fiat accompli ?

A note to whoever hires/fires moderators: simple numbers, not to mention human frailty, says that they will not manage to be perfect. The longer their terms of service, the more likely it is that one day a physical complaint will manifest itself in an error of judgement. I hope that this is "gardening leave"...that there is an opportunity for them to regain their former positions...and that this decision was taken as much with their health and emotional wellbeing in mind, as the legal convenience of HW.
They will be a hard act to follow !
On the plus side, I hope they enjoy the time off, destress, and appreciate life on the Naughty Step ! (Welcome to my life)

Since the majority here seem to be as shocked and upset as I am, I would like to suggest that you email the Admin personally. I do not know if Peter reads these posts. I think he should know that his actions have real consequences.

For those of you not on Facebook. He is actively campaigning on Facebook to be nominated as Health Activist of The Year. I do not believe this is how a health activist treats their "employees".

His next post "If we could all be more kind the world would be so much better, especially for those of us coping with chronic illness. ~ Peter" Seriously.

I sent him a personal email first thing this morning. I have received no response. I believe he "dismissed" Ivy and Nanners on a Friday evening just so that he could avoid dealing with fallout. We all know the boards are notoriously silent on the weekends. And he can "ignore" email over a weekend.

Maybe he should live by his quotes.

I am absolutely disgusted if what I have just read is true. I hope whoever took away their moderator status is reading these comments for those of us who have been around a while.

I am indebted to both Gail and Ivy for their support over the years and I have enjoyed the sane core group who have posted positively during this time.

I am fed up with the fly by nighters who come on to cause trouble and controvery - trolls who make the internet a less than enjoyable place - or those who are trying to 'sell' us something.

Good health to you both ladies - hope you stick around but understand if you don't
