I was making my own ice cream, pre fodmap, but I was making it with coconut cream, which is, of course, banned on this diet, and I've yet to find an acceptable substitute.
I've tried the supermarkets' dairy free ice creams and they're ok, but not really a great substitute for the real thing. Plus, they're packed with sugar and other additives, and I think they'd probably do as much damage, fodmap-wise, as my coconut concoctions.
Forget sport, I'm still smarting from the lightbulb joke!!!!!
I thought I was ok with brassicas, but I thought I was ok on a lot of fodmap-banned foods, and only saw the difference once I stopped them. I might be like you, and introduce them eventually, but I think Christmas will be too early. :-(
