Moviprep for Colonoscopy......Help?

Hey there,

I am going for colonoscopy on 4th January and am really anxious about the prep. Really scared of having to drink so much and the thought of vomitting scares me (I have eosphaghul tears and bleed if I wretch too much!)

I used Fleet for sigmoidoscopy about 4 years and that was dreadful, and vowed never to do again. But still having pain/bleeding/ constant diarrhoea, not convinced by IBS diagnosis.

Any advice or reassurance would be good.

I always mix it with gingerale. (After I mix it with water). Then I chase it with straight gingerale to clear the salty taste out of my mouth. I end up drinking a lot more than just the amount in the prep, but for me it is SO worth it because I gag very easily and I don't want to vomit.
It helps it not taste so bad - although it takes me months to want to even look at a bottle of gingerale again. ;) I only drink the first batch because I eat lightly a few days before so there isn't much to have to get out. Maybe if you prepare ahead of time you won't need to drink all of it? I know the doc says they want you to drink it all, but I never need all of it.

i have used moviprep and thought it was "better" than some of the other ones out there. i mixed it with water and gatorade and that helped a lot with getting it down. i did end up needing all of it but it really helped me to divide it up as per the instructions to remind myself i didn't need to drink all of it immediately. take it hour by hour and you will be fine!!!!!

Do you have to take both doses, I have read a lot of people saying they stop once its clear? How do you know you have done enough?

Also is the liquid gloopy once mixed or chalky?
