lots of blood

Recently I noticed my stool to be very very dark and figured I would bring this up to my gastro DR next week.  Today the last 4 BMs have been lots and lots of bright red blood.  No pain in the back end.... some soreness in the gut but hard to measure if it is worse then usual or if I am just noticing it because I am worried.  Should I go to ER tonight? or wait and call gastro in the morning?  I am always anemic but this is the first time that I can see blood usually it is just the inflamation from the crohns that causes me to be low. Any suggestions would be appreciated. 

When I say lots... the bottom of the toilet is covered in red blood. I thought about calling blue cross blue shield...they have a nurse line.

Could it be hemmies? If not, I'd get examined, or definitely call a health hot line.
