Had my 2nd Remicade infusion on the 6th and still haven't seen any difference in symptoms

Fast forward to Monday, the 9th and my dog is hit by a car

Spent all that night and the next day at vets and emergency animal hospitals with him (the love of my life :-), he is a momma's boy)

He has a compressed fracture of the 7th vertebrae but is doing really well and will be able to come home this Sat, albeit still on bed rest and he will have to be helped with a belly band as he takes his walks

It will take time but he will heal

Called to get a refill of the hated Pred and nurse called me back

Due to the fact, I'm not seeing any improvement, they're moving me back up to 40mgs of Pred

I hate this stuff - I am now 154lbs and it is all in my GUT

I look and feel like I'm 7 months pregnant

After I visited Bobo yesterday, I stopped at Firehouse Sub and the guy behind the counter gave me 2 dill pickle spears

There apparently was one already in the bag but when I went to get the bag from him, I saw him look in the bag and add the other pickle

Me thinks, he thought I was preggo and was trying to be nice

Good thing I love pickles - LOL

See GI doc next Friday to go over symptoms and how things are going

I would love to be able to say, I have made a dramatic improvement and you can take me off this Pred and somehow get this weight off me again but I don't see it happening

I'm so sorry about your dog and the evil Prednisone! What kind of dog do you have? I'm crazy about my dog too. I got her from the humane society about 1 1/2 years ago when she was 7 years old. She is about a 50 lb. mutt...has some lab and a bunch of other breeds in her. She is my best company, especially when I don't feel well. She's a big sweetheart, and I can't imagine how anyone could have given her up! I think we both rescued each other! I'm glad your dog will be ok...it must have been so scary for you!

What symptoms are you having with your Crohn's?

He's a 10 month old boxer, who already weighs 57lbs

You can tell, I say that with pride, LOL

Daily symptoms include urgency, diarreha, some incontinence, gut pain and occasional bouts of vomiting

Will take coumadin for life because Crohn's gave me lupus anti-coagulant disorder and nearly killed me in Mar of '11

Right now on 30mgs of Pred, 750mgs Colazal 3x daily and Remicade

Moving up to 40mgs of Pred which I dread, haha

Really haven't seen any difference except for the 20lbs that I've gained and I could have really done without it

I'm so sorry you are so sick! I'm not doing well now either. I was in the ER in mid December with a partial obstruction and my Crohn's has spread throughout my ileum. I started 6MP and 40mg of Pred. I just talked with my doc, and I think the Prednisone is giving me worse symptoms than the Crohn's itself. So now I'm tapering the Pred to see how I do. I'm at 25 mg now. I'm having terrible acid reflux and nausea. I know I'm taking a risk by decreasing the Pred, and I may have to increase it again if this doesn't work. I really hate the Pred....can't sleep and I'm becoming a depressed person, and I'm not like that normally! I wish I had some good advice for you, except to say you are not alone. I barely eat, so I'm not gaining weight, but I am bloated too. Complain to me anytime...I seem to hang out on this site a lot!!!!! I hope your dog keeps getting better....I love boxers!

I'm sorry Gunny - I see you on here all the time - I hope you can taper off the pred - I didn't haves any luck coming off it

I love boxers also - we had one for 12 yrs and he passed away when our daughter was a year old

Hobo is the first dog we've had in 10 years

Boy my typing is not very good on my Kindle - note above was for gumby44 and my dog's name is Bobo, not Hobo

Started the 40mgs this morning and it has been the WORST morning yet

Thankfully my Aunt lives right around the corner from my office so I ended up having to make a pit stop at her apt to clean up before I could go on into work

My daughter has a game at 8am tomorrow morning and we all know how mornings go - we have to leave the house by 6:45am to get to the school by 7:30am for pre-game practice

I know I'm not going to be able to get out the door so I guess, my husband is going to have to take her and I'll just have to meet them when I can

We are supposed to pick Bobo up from the vet once the game is over so I've got to get out of the house at some point

I hope everyone here has a wonderful weekend - we are supposed to be COLD, at least for us
