hey all been a while since i have been on here. so i had been taking pentasa since my diagnosis until a few weeks ago as i wasn't doin so well then my consultant put me on azathioprine,150mg, starting 50mg for two weeks, which have just finished but have been feeling nausous contantly and and being sick as well, not sure if this is the new med or my own chron's symptoms flaring, went back to gp and he told me to go ahead and start two daily 100mg, soo not feeling any better not keeping anything down, feeling bit feverish also. any ideas if it is my new tabs or just my chron's. any one had similar situation, any advice much appreciated x

I was on azathioprine. for a few years and have been on pentassa since being diagnosed in 2005. The combination of both drugs together worked well for me. i am not sure how helpful that is but I though I'd share just in case! I wish you luck and I hope you feel better soon!

I am on 6MP which is similar to azathioprine. Nausea is a side effect of the drug. Do you take it at night? I'm having some nausea too...I just started on it on Jan.1. I take Zofran for the nausea which helps. I'm having trouble figuring out if my nausea is from the 6MP, the Prednisone I'm on or the Crohn's itself. Definitely ask for some anti-nausea meds and see if that helps. Sorry you feel so sick!

It could be the begining of a flare, or the medication, maybe diet....

Dont wait for it to get worse call your DR

I would suggest calling your gp and tell him what is going on. Sorry that I haven't been in here for a while.

I had been taking it in the morning but i decided to take it night time last night, was up early hours being sick and bm's, i do take anti-sickness tabs also called valoid. Staying on liquids for meantime. Gumby44 i started these on same date as you, first week on 50mg really bad nausea, now i am thinking since i have gone up to 100mg is it worsening, but then again things weren't going to well that's why i got changed meds....its a mixed bag for us chronnies, hard to know the answer. i managed to get appt with gp tomorrow so hopefully no more. Thanks for feedback guys x
