Yesterday, I underwent both an upper and a lower endoscopy. I'll demonstrate the results from up to down.
Esophagus: erythema of distal 6 cm with linear mucosal breaks.
Stomach: gastritis - multiple biopsies were taken.
Duodenum: duodenitis and a small diverticulum in the second part - multiple biopsies were taken.
Ileum, TI and Rectum: normal looking as usual but GI took several biopsies. I was told that the proctitis was not that bad but my GI discovered hemorrhoids and he thinks that this could be the reason of my discomfort and constant pain.
I expected the results of the ileum and colon as they have always been like that and they depend on biopsies in diagnosis. However, the results of the esophagus, in particular, were shocking for me. I have been taking Nexium 80 for 5 years now and still the acidity could escape to it. For 12 years, scopes showed that my esophagus was ok. Last summer, I had a scope with another GI and he told me that the esophagus was perfect!!!
Any advice on how to let the esophagus mucosa heal?
Your replies are highly appreciated.
