Lower left back pain

Hi all,

I've been having lower left back pain-under rib cage and down- for a few months now. Initially, I thought the cause was twisting at work at a left handed desk but the pain persists after a change in workstations so of course I now wonder if I need to see the doc. I hesitate though because she always sends me for every test in the book and you all know what a pain that is . . . . So, my question is does anyone else have this pain and know what causes it?

Thx, C6, Kidney crossed my mind too as the pain can be severe and it comes and goes. Having Crohns though you just never know what sort of pain will turn up so I thought I'd check here first. Then, if no one here ever had this kind of pain associated with crohns I could probably see my primary instead of alarming the GI.
