In my 21 yrs of having CD I've either been allergic or non-responsive to RX used for IBD so I had to find my own ways to help mysself and although it took a very long time I'm quite happy that I've been able to come up with a regiment (listed in my sig below) that has at least made things a little better.

It's such an individual disease but I have to say that considering I've had CD affecting my colon the entire 20 yrs, still no colon cancer and that's pretty darn good I think.

But if/when I do get worse again, I sure hope that the big guns like Remi/Humira work for me as well.

Yes PB4, I felt priviledged to see Dr. P. since I know how hard it is to see him and how well respected he is in his field. For that reason I was expecting him to be 'older'. He was very thorough and explained things further.
I know this disease is so unique to each individual and can kind of understand your reasoning. Frustrating to wonder how you would feel without the 'botched' surgery in the first place. I know the stress of what you have gone through with your Mom's estate and hopefully can put that in the past. And maybe that in itself will make you feel better mentally and physically.
Because I basically have no symptoms, I question the use of MTX. Since my Crohn's did progress to the state of requiring surgery, GI's are hoping to prevent that from happening again. And Dr. P assured me that MTX has been around for a long time and people have been on it for 'decades'. Think I am just getting tired of that needle every week. Forgot about the pill form but I know there can be more side effects from that and he said they don't know if it would have the same effect on the Crohn's.
I do visit the forum regulary to check on certain people (like you) but don't usually have too much to offer. Have gotten past being guilty for feeling so well, just thankful for it and hope others can get to to the same point at times.

I agree, I found him to be awfully young especially for all that he's accomplished...he's one of the lead ressearchers for crohn's and colitis in Canada and has been many places (like the mayo clinic in the US) and he seems to be very well rounded in his field especially for his age.

He is good, very thorough and works with his patients rather than being condescending like many GI's are.

I'm so glad you've been feeling well, I definitely understand that you would feel guilty for it but glad you got passed that feeling cuz everyone deserves to be in remission and feel good when they're dealing with a chronic illness and I'm glad it's happend for you and hope it stays that way indefinitely. And hey, if it means a needle every week (which I don't blame you for not looking forward to) it beats sitting on the pot all day long and not having much of a life. I'm so happy for your success.

Glad to know you still lurk and post when you feel necessary, it's always good chatting with you and I often wonder how you're doing so thanks for the updates and contact.

Well, PB4, you are the only one who knows or can know when you are willing to go w/Remicade. As always good luck and God bless. I can only hope and pray things get better for you.

Thanks C2, you're a sweetie! I'm actually thiniking it may be my lactose issues affecting me. I've been playing around a bit and will see what happens to confirm if it's the lactose thing.
