I just got back from the CCFA Nutrition class & everyone there was in remission so I was really jealous & happy that people have had success!
First off, I honestly didn't want to go because I was sick and didn't feel like getting nagged about my eating habits(I eat one meal a day..)but the RD/RN conducting the class was very sweet and had a daughter, who like me, refused to listen to someones nagging about their foos choices when they feel like crud. The nice lady offered me great ways to try to add calories to my meal & told my mom a list of snacks I could eat that would be soothing & healing.
While there, I got to meet two nice families who both have sons my age with Crohn's & they invited my family to join their new support group for people & families with IBD & my mother was almost in tears! It just goes to show IBD affects families too! I'm excited to go!
I'm very excited to go to the walk-a-thon this June in my state that's CCFA sponsored too! It also happens to be right next to my GI's office & he's apart of the cause too & will also do the walk-a-thon! I have a friend who went to it last year & she said it was HUGE & FUN! So get involved with your CCFA Chapter!
Call me a 'kid' but I'm most excited to meet two guys, my age, with CROHN'S! Social & dating life here I come!
